Defining KuroManga- some words to know_

Ancients- the first 13 clans of the defined Dimensions, according to the Omega 13 order. These clans are each believed to have formed their own worlds and races; they existed peacefully until the division of the 13th Dimension- a schism caused by the re-creation of a race believed to be dead- the Phoenixes. 'Ancients' is the term used in reference to these divided races.

ANGEL- an organization founded by Mukineko as collaboration between the Saints, Gatemasters, and Chaos Controllers. The organization recruits from Sky City Academy.

Atsakimaru- the name of the prison on Charon, it is famous for being both impossible to escape and for having the most effective torture program and for the cruel nature of its surrounding environment, it is located on an island off the coast of Che-zuan.

Bikini Atoll- a tropical island on Earth (Terra), which is owned by Azeala Nerukami. Prior to her ownership of the Atoll it was used as a testing grounds for nuclear weapons. The Atoll was sold to Azeala with the realization that, due to high concentrations of radiation, mankind could not inhabit the land.

Cat- the respective animal race of the 6th Dimension, according to the Order of Omega 13. The Native word for their kind is Nekochi, 'descendants of the great cat spirit'. They have bodies covered in fur that comes in a variety of colors and patterns, they have paws on their fore feet and rear legs, often Cats walk on only their toes, which are developed to support their weight and balance them even standing upright. Most cats have long fur on their heads and shorter fur on the rest of their bodies, the most common feature of the Cat species is the Ears and Tail, the ears are positioned on the side of their heads and the tails can be anywhere from the length of their legs to longer than the length of their body.
Their home planet is Halcyon, but they later came to inhabit Kikkon after they discovered instant transportation through the Gate.

Charon- located in the 5th Dimension, in the Junarian Solar system. It is the sixth planet from the sun. Although it is the most polluted and crime-ridden planet in the known universe it is a major source of industry. It was once a prosperous agricultural planet until pollution made it difficult to grow healthy crops, many lager cities stand empty because of famine, war, and plagues of illness. It has been ruled by the Charon Royal family for four generations beginning with Xenobius, who put forth a political movement that eradicated knowledge of the former rulers of the planet and also unionized the entire planet under one flag, one tongue, and one Dictator.  

Chaos controllers- a person who ensures order in Matrixial systems, such as the Phoenix Computer program(Lucky installed many of these code-creatures (sentient AI) to help the gang during "System Wars") There is a coalition of these Chaos Controllers in the Electrical Dimension, discovered in the "War" chapters.

Chi-Fu-Tai- a fighting style based on energy and motion rather than physical strength, weapons often add to this style as an extension of the self. This style, much like the Five-points Mechanism, is rather graceful and is as beautiful as it is deadly. Ren Kou-yang invented it.

Chi-Kai- a mark found on the forehead (or on the back between the shoulder blades in the case of the Phoenix) of Namae, the Chi-Kai is a representation of a spirit's energy hence its name. If one can read the symbol then instantly they will know that person's identity, their thoughts, their emotions, their choices, and their wills. When a person is born they have a Namae implanted in their soul, when the body dies and the soul is prepared for transcension the Namae becomes a physical entity. While a person is alive the Namae grows and forms according to their wills and actions, the Chi-Kai is visible only after death. If a person could see this symbol and read it they could in turn write it and control that person. This is the process by which Uraneko was created. Uraneko, Jusan, Kirioku, and Storm are the only ones known to possess the gift of reading Chi-Kai symbols.

Chimeras- creatures made of combined organisms.

Commsync- Commsync links telephone, television and computers together and transmits various data through all of the Dimensions via the Gate.

Dimensions- Omega 13 claimed there to be 13 main Dimensions... it is later known that there are endless dimensions. Omega 13 defined a Dimension as "definable and distinct regions of reality or existence pathways.

The Divide- the grey area between the Gate and Void... this is the place of souls.

Earth- located in the 4th Dimension, it is the third planet from the star Solaris, and the respective race is the monkey. Planet Earth (also known as Terra) is a diversified planet with many forms of life.

Electrical Dimension- a Dimension existing within, and because of, the existence of electrical energy. Certain beings, including Sprites and Starborns, can move freely in and out of this dimension. In the War chapters of KM/Eve Kononame discovers this realm while lost in the Void.

Five-points Mechanism- a fighting style based on the motion of the body and its design, weapons are used as extensions of the body. This Fighting style looks a lot like a dance. Azeala Nerukami invented it.

The Gate- the space between Dimensions, Makiu became the Sage of the Gate after the schism in the "13th" Dimension.

Gatemasters- those who work for Makiu who have the power of the Gate, they are linked directly to Makiu.

Guardians- anyone who vows under a Gate based ritual to protect something, even at the cost of their own life. There are three types of Guardian, Angels (literally), System types (such as Chaos Controllers), those who are special members of ANGEL, and those who serve to protect the Gate. If a sworn Guardian fails at their task they will die. There are different types of Guardianship, including Secret Keepers, and Protectors.

Homunculus- artificial creatures created by chaotic forces, such as natural disasters, they represent a balance of power in 'Equivalent Exchange' by taking in sacrifice energy, and some types of homunculus are nuclear, digital and chemical. Also known as Void Creatures.

Keyholder- (Key Sage) there are 14 Keyholders, each to their respective Dimensions. When one Key holder dies a new one is born. They are also referred to as Key Sages. Each Keyholder has their own respective Gate power, such as sight, they all have a six-pointed star marked on their body somewhere, with the exception of the Phoenix Key Sage who has no star, instead they have Makiu's Chi-Kai on their forehead. They are chosen to represent the races, and are special members of the Council of Kikkon.

Kikkon- located in the 6th Dimension it is the 4th planet from its sun Astair, it is the home planet of the Nekochi, it is much like Planet Terra in that the creatures are the species that evolved there, unlike Terra however no outsiders have come to this planet since the population of Mobius and Mizuage (a.k.a. Charon). The planet lives prosperously with little political issue due to the tendency of the government to send wrong doers to other planets as scouts or simply put them on another planet.

Mobius- located in the 5th Dimension, it is the 3rd planet from the star Junias this planet was originally empty, the Nekochi sent scouts to this planet before Charon and terraformed the planet to support themselves. This planet was named for an expedition whose ship was destroyed leaving them marooned until scouts exploring other planets in the solar system happened upon their shipwreck and unfortunately by that time they had died. This planet once prosperous, and at times, war-ridden was rendered barren by the Charon Military, by way of coercing Chaos Angel into feeding on the lifeforms there, in an attempt to make a statement to the other Nekochi. Since Terraformed by the 13th Division, a special unit from ANGEL lead by Kado.

Neo Planets- system replications of worlds that exist in Dimensions, these are found only in Matrix-type systems.

Phoenix- the respective species of the 14th Dimension, the Phoenix is known for having been the first artificially created species and also the first to completely self-regenerate. Phoenixes do not have their souls connected to their bodies via their brains rather, through their hearts this is the reason that the only way to kill a Phoenix is to remove its heart and destroy it separately from the body. Phoenixes do not need to reproduce sexually although the first Phoenixes Arukubi, Azeala and Aileta, who were originally Nekochi, have these organs and can create hybrid offspring. A phoenix is born from the feathers of its parents. Two Phoenixes each remove one feather from opposite wings and put them together they combust and form a new Phoenix.

Phoenix AZ-a large city in America, this is the location of the Phoenix Computer Complex one of three large Mainframe computers that are all linked to Proteus the Supercomputer.

Phoenix Computer Complex- one of three mainframe computers that are part of Proteus's database and though they are separated by miles of terrain, and in one case, ocean these computers are crucial to Proteus's function. This is particularly special in that the system is the first Matrix-type system and was created jointly by Espen and Omega. The original intention of it was to have military training in perfectly replicated environments, without consuming more than a few blocks of space in the ground below Phoenix AZ.

Phoenix Estates- a Matrix type system that was originally developed by Omega for the military, the project was abandoned after years of research for unknown reasons. It later becomes the residence of Azeala and many others. It is only revealed to the audience as a system after Axel compromises it.

Races- each of the 14 different Dimensions has a respective animal species, as defined by Omega 13(names are Bakiran)

Rainstar- the surname of the family that ruled Charon under the name Mizuage, the Charon Royal family had a daughter, Masuhime, who was the heir to the throne as she was the oldest child in the family her brother who was six years younger wanted to take the throne but his sister married a prince from Mobius named Uzon Rainstar, in an attempt to claim the throne Masuhime's brother Geurou had his parents assassinated, this was to his dismay not as effective as he had hoped and she takes her husband's surname and thus is the end of the Charon's rule. Their child was named Mizuko, when she became ruler she changed the name of the planet to Mizuage. The Rainstar family was banished by Xenobius Charon, the descendant of Geurou, when he took the throne from Mido Rainstar who gave up rule when his wife died under mysterious circumstances.

Saints- those who serve Makiu, but do not have power of the Gate.

Sky City- located on planet Kikkon, this floating island is a completely self-sustained community. This is where Sky City Academy is located.

Snake- The respective race of the 10th Dimension, the native word for their kind is Nyogachi (descendant of the great snake spirit). The snakes have smooth skin that comes in many colors their skin is made of very fine scales that blend seamlessly with each other, they have very fine smooth hair that grows quickly and is found only on their heads they usually have very sharp fangs that sometimes protrude from their thin lips they have eyes that either have no iris or they have pupils like a cat's. Snakes also have a peculiar mechanism, they can shapeshift, and they have very high metabolisms (you will never see a snake with any amount of bodyfat, that isn't natural).

Sprites- Pure energy beings that can manifest themselves in a physical or digital form. These beings and some Starborn can move freely in and out of both the Gate/Void realms and the Electrical Dimension.

Souleaters- slim, flexible oddities, these creatures have unchanging faces and copy peoples memories, thoughts and emotions, their exact purpose is a mystery, they are called Souleaters because of their resemblance to, Zabouru, large winged creatures that take life energy from people.      

Systems- artificial realities (subrealities) that exist within the digital world can span across Dimensions through Commsync.

The Void- The realm opposite the Gate, the origin of all things through the existence of Nothing.

Void Creatures- manifested thought-forms existing both within the Gate/Void realms and in the physical and Electrical dimensions.

Wordpells- indirect attacks based on energy or, in systems, psychotronic waves, accompanied with a spoken command. The term is used originally in System Wars by Espen.

Zakkara- located in the 6th Dimension, it is the 7th planet from the star Astair. Zakkara is a mostly uninhabited planet, save for the place where Makiu's mortal body was buried. At his burial site there are the last remaining original Nekochi who guard his ashes faithfully to honor the cat that sacrificed himself to save their kind from certain destruction. The group who protect this place are known to be very cultish. ANGEL initiates who wish to become Gatemasters or Saints are brought to this place for training.
